Frequently Asked Questions

How many batteries do I need to start the machine?

At least three. The battery compartment has three columns, each controlling different functions: drive function, right blade function, and left blade function. You can operate the machine once each column has at least one battery.

What is the recommended tire pressure for the CRT426 model?

Tire pressure should always be checked and adjusted when the tires are cold to ensure optimal performance: Front Caster Wheels: 24 psi and Drive Wheels: 8 psi

Can I operate the machine on a slope?

For safety reasons, Greenworks riding mowers should not be used on slopes greater than 15°. Before mowing on any incline, we strongly recommend familiarizing yourself with the operation manual to ensure safe and stable handling.

Why does the blade stop working when I leave the seat?

For the safety of you and your surroundings, you must be seated for the mower blade to work. Go back to the seat and once seated, push down on the PTO switch and then pull it up to restart the blade system.

Is a Zero-Turn (ZTR) mower easy to operate?

The ease of use depends on the operator’s experience. Unlike traditional steering wheels, Zero-Turn mowers use independent motors and handlebars, requiring some practice. New users may find it beneficial to watch instructional videos on our official Greenworks YouTube Channel for guidance.

What deck size do I need for my lawn?

Choosing the right cutting deck width depends on the size of your yard:

  • up to 2 acres: 21” to 52” cutting width
  • 1-3 acres: 52” to 54” cutting width
  • 3-4 acres: 54” to 60” cutting width
  • 4+ acres: 60” or greater cutting width

What maintenance does a Zero-Turn mower require?

Routine maintenance includes tasks such as: cleaning the blades and checking oil levels (if applicable) For detailed maintenance instructions, refer to your owner’s manual.

Can I use other types of Greenworks batteries for the machine?

Yes. Check to make sure the battery voltage matches the machine before use. This unit will only recognize batteries above 4.0Ah.

Can the riding mower tow attachments?

Yes, Greenworks riding mowers are attachment-capable and can tow accessories such as Yard sweepers and Wheelbarrows. The maximum towing capacity is 350 lbs.

Can the mower cut in reverse?

Yes, but only when the reverse button is pressed and held. This is a built-in safety feature to prevent accidental engagement while in reverse.
