Use your model and serial number to confirm that your product is included and submit your replacement-battery request.
This safety notice covers certain Kobalt 24V/48V products sold exclusively at Lowe’s stores and on Lowes.com. Charging the lithium-ion batteries through the USB-C port while the batteries are inserted in the yard power tools can cause the batteries to short-circuit, posing a risk of serious injury from fire hazard.
Stop using the affected battery immediately. If your product is listed below, enter your serial number and shipping information to request a replacement battery. When your replacement package arrives, follow the enclosed instructions for battery replacement, original-battery return, warning-label placement, and 48V charging-adapter use where applicable.

Enter your serial number and shipping information.
Enter your serial number, battery serial number, and shipping address so the correct replacement battery or batteries can be sent directly to your home address if your product is included in the affected serial-number range. Battery serial number entry boxes will appear if they are applicable to the selected product.

Submit your request and follow the package instructions.
After your request is submitted, your replacement package will include replacement batteries without the USB-C port (if applicable), a charger adapter (if applicable), a warning label to affix on the yard power tool, an updated product manual, and a pre-paid shipping label along with instructions for returning the recalled batteries.
- There is no cost for the replacement process.
- Return the original battery or batteries using the provided pre-paid shipping label. You may use the same shipping box for your convenience.

Label and return guidance
Use these instructions after your replacement package arrives. The package includes replacement batteries without the USB-C port (if applicable), a charger adapter (if applicable), a warning label to affix on the yard power tool, an updated product manual, and a pre-paid shipping label along with instructions for returning the recalled batteries.
Before operating your equipment:
read all enclosed instructions carefully. Failure to follow the instructions may result in
product damage, property damage, personal injury, or voiding of applicable warranties.
How to apply the warning label
Use this video as a visual guide along with the warning label and charging instructions included with your replacement package.

- Remove the replacement battery or batteries from the package and remove all enclosed paperwork.
- Place the original battery or batteries supplied with your tool kit into the replacement package box, or use the same shipping box for your convenience.
- Reseal the box securely and apply the provided pre-paid shipping label to the outside of the package.
- For applicable 48V tools, clean and dry the label area, peel the backing from the warning label, and press the center first before smoothing outward toward the edges.
- For applicable 48V tools, use the enclosed charging adapter whenever charging the replacement battery with a USB-C connection.
- Use only the replacement battery or batteries supplied with the package and inspect the battery, charger, adapter, and cables before each use.
- Do not alter, modify, disassemble, or tamper with the battery, charger, or charging adapter. Discontinue use immediately if any component appears damaged, overheats, emits odor, leaks, or operates abnormally.
